An argumentative research
An argumentative research paper is a lengthy and thorough investigation that is accomplished by an investigation of a certain specified subject, compilation of data relating to that topic, review of the facts based on the data gathered, and a statement of the stance with respect to the topic.
An argumentative essay is divided into four sections: arguments, counterclaims, explanations, and proof. The paper begins with an introduction, which entails a brief description of the topic to be discussed in the paper then the author is required to formulate a thesis statement towards the end of the introduction paragraph which should be what the paper entails to achieve. It is in this part that the author asserts his/her claim on the topic.
A claim is what the author/writer holds to be his position on the topic or issue at hand. This is where the author pronounces his/her point of view on the topic. The claim is followed by a counterclaim which is the opposite of the claim and which the author ought to consider in order to come to a comprehensive and all rounded claim that is satisfactory by also considering the other side of the coin. This is the followed by the reasons part where the author tries to justify his/her claim with compelling reasons to why the claim is justified. The evidence part on the other hand is where the author provides prove to warrant the claim (Bergmann, 2012).
The author’s communication of ideas should be orderly and systematic narrowing down from the more important facts of the claim to the less important ones. The author’s trustworthy and credibility can be verified by the reader through analysis of the credibility of the author’s evidence and whether the evidence provided by the author are convincing enough to support the authors claim and also whether the evidence provided is tangible and verifiable for the reader to be convinced on the author’s claim. For an argumentative message to be effective therefore the parts stipulated above should be strictly adhered to and approached by the author.
