The Return on investment for Amazon Company indicates the cash inflow generated off shareholders investments. However, there are upward and downward trends on the net profit margin ratio as evident on the return on investment ratio. In 2016, the ratios peaked, and then dropped in 2015, but the most significant occurred in 2014.
There is an improvement in the number of assets recorded from 2016 to 2015, with a slight drop 2014 compared to 2015. The assets turnover ratio indicates that the company has made good profit. However, there is a rise in the in the financial leverage ratio by a greater margin from 2016 to 2014. This is a clear indication that the company is using debt in funding projects. These may be hazardous to the company since enough capital may not be generated to cater for the debts.
