Archeology and excavation at Morgantown
My name is ___ and I recently graduated from University of Richmond. As an archaeologist, I work in the archaeological science and research centre in Morgan town, West Virginia. I had a dream of accomplishing so many things. I am currently working on a new project in Pennsylvania where I hope to accomplish finding out who actually lived in the area I am researching on. I hope to find out what the families earn and what their routines look like and I hope to find out what their lifestyle looks like.
From the artifacts that I already have found, this site is about 5 years old. Also I learned that this site was in use in about October 2011 to about March 2012. Some of the artifacts that led me to this date were first 2011 Pennsylvania fishing licenses. Along with the fishing licenses I also found a receipt of some type that was for November 18, 2011 that was also for $485. This gave me a range of when to start the timeline. Then, throughout my search I found what appeared to be a school calendar for March 2012. From this I put together the time of October 2011 to March 2012 that this site was in use.
When going through this site I came to the conclusion that there were two adults, man and women, as well as two children, female and male. John and Heather Bakewell are who I founded to be the adults as well as the mother and father to Maylyn and John Bakewell, daughter and son. I came to believe that both John and Heather are to be in their 40’s. I came to the names of this family by finding a Ford Motor insurance paper with the name John Bakewell on it, then I found a Parachute magazine sent to Heather Bakewell, also when searching I found a dental reminder for Maylyn Bakewell and a parent report of John Bakewell from a school. Searching for the ages of Maylyn and John, I believe that Maylyn is in her recent teen years from finding a birthday card that said “finally a teen” as well as menstrual products and Teen One-A-Day vitamins. As for John Bakewell, I believe that he is in elementary school, around 3rd or 4th grade from finding a school book order sheet that had primarily chapter books on it, as well as the grade school calendar, a divide and cross multiply homework sheet and a little boy sock.
This family appeared to do many different activities. From the artifacts that I found this family is big on hunting. I found many different hunting papers, from a hunting application to a target used for shooting, a box for bullets, bullet shells as well as archery magazine As well as hunting; a lot of different gardening seeds and lids to mason jars which are usually used for gardening were found. Some other things were found such as Steelers vs. Patriots game pass was found which shows that they like sports as well. Some movie tickets were also found. Within the site vacation rewards were founded. Also I believe that this family goes to church too because I found Christian school papers.
This family looked like it used many different businesses. I believe that this family was going through a process of getting renovations and improvements to their home from finding drywall wrappers and a brochure of a home improvement company. For clothing, a men’s Kohl’s magazine and an Aero postal gift card were at the site. I also believe that the family sometimes went to Walmart to buy food because there was Great Value food products were found which a brand only found in Walmart.
I most definitely think that this family has a good income. To me I think that John Bakewell is involved in law enforcement; something to deals with handling guns. Some of the artifacts that I found to come to this would be a police championship paper and some policeman gun reports. Also found were gun shells of what used to be called a “buck shot” which tends to be a defensive caliber and what appeared to be a reload for a pistol. I think that John is well trained and could have been former military before entering into what is now a state employed job because the Steelers tickets did have some military affiliation to them. This makes me believe that John was making about $50,000 annually. As for Heather Bakewell, I have come to the conclusion that she is a private Christian school teacher. I came to this from finding a Pennsylvania department of education check as well as teacher forms from a Christian school. I believe that Heather was making somewhere between $20,000 and $30,000 a year.
