One of the features that one can observe from the work of art that Weyden's follower developed is the Virgin holding a flower and baby Christ sitting on the laps. The painting by Weyden's follower also depicts an image of Virgin and Christ gazing at the flower, which the former holds at a distant as the latter is struggling to reach for the flower. The work of art by the follower of Weyden also depicts the Virgin wearing a golden-brown robe while the Christ wears a white garment. Also, it is evident from the painting that Weyden's follower developed that the Virgin holds the flower using her right hand and baby Christ is also trying to pick the flower using his right hand. Besides, the personalities in the work of art by Weyden's follower are looking away from one another thus indicating they are looking at the same object.

An examination of the works of art Duccio and the follower of Weyden developed reveals various similarities. The first similarity in the Madonna and Child by the arts mentioned above is that both the paintings depict the Virgin embracing Christ thus indicating the emotions Madonna exhibits towards the baby. Also, one can observe that in both paintings, Christ is stretching his hands to hold something. For instance, in the work of art by Duccio Christ has extended his hands towards the Virgin's veil while in the painting Weyden's follower developed, the Christ is stretching his hand to hold a flower the Virgin is holding. Weyden's member's painting and Duccio's work of art also shows the Madonna and the child wearing robes that are luminous. The works of arts described above are also similar because they both have an image of Christ who is barefoot and the Virgin is gazing at something. One can observe that the Madonna and child the artists mentioned above developed critically show the manner in which religious figures, such as the Virgin, loved and cared for the Christ.

As previously indicated in this essay, the works of arts by Duccio and the follower of Weyden have various similarities. However, one can also observe some contrasting elements in the paintings that the artists above developed. Notably, the picture that Duccio developed had a golden background while the follower of Weyden used a dark background for the Madonna and Christ. Also, it is evident that Duccio used parapet at the bottom of his painting while the follower of Weyden did not use any unique element at the lower part of the work of art he developed. An analysis of the paintings by Duccio and the follower of Weyden also show dissimilarities concerning the objects that feature in the pictures. For instance, the works of art by the follower of Weyden has an image of the Virgin with Christ on her lap and a flower on her right hand whereas the painting by Duccio exhibits only the image of the Christ sitting on the Virgin’s lap. Also, unlike Duccio’s Madonna and child, which depict a kid who is gazing towards the Virgin, the painting by Weyden’s follower has the image of the Christ facing away from the virgin.

The works of arts by Duccio and the follower of Weyden help in showing that artists can paint unique images that have observable features, which significantly compare and contrast each other.
