Civil Disobedience Research
Some intentions emerge spontaneously when writing a text. The intentions of an article's writer are always known only when the article is being written. Readers, on the other hand, have the opportunity to read through the text in order to figure out what the author is trying to convey to them and why they are writing the piece of literature. Since most authors bury their actual intentions deep within the text, a person reading a piece of literature for the first time must dig deep to understand it. This serves to evoke both interest and concentration in the reader since they have the constant urge to grasp what is between the lines of the text. The text Civil Disobedience explores the manner in which the government and those in it abuse their authority at the expense of serving the people. The author's primary objective in the article is to point out the areas of laxity of the government and its operatives.
One of the most difficult steps in the composition of a text is accounting for the initial objectives that the author might have had in mind before setting out to write. The author has to justify his intentions and objectives in the body of his/her literary piece and make them support his main objective. It may sound so easy to say, but the difficult part is where the writer as to actualize it by putting it down on paper. At the beginning of the text, Civil Disobedience, the author starts with a strong line which includes a contradictory statement that is in quotes, and he believes it to be his motto. He says that the government has the best authority but does not put it to the prerequisite use. In short, the author is trying to convey the message that the government has authority, but it chooses to sit on it rather than execute its power in efforts to assist the citizens. In the body, the author still puts more emphasis on how much of nothing the government does to salvage its people from the problems they anticipate their government to intervene. Concisely, the author links the key point in the introductory paragraph with the key concept in the body of the text.
There are times when we are so busy trying to earn incomes that would help sustain our families rather than pay attention to the way the government is conducting its operations. This way, we fail to see how much of a disappointment our leaders in authority are and how much of nothing they are doing in the positions they hold. However, the writer of the article has put them in a plain text for those who are not aware so that they can read in between the lines and get the actual picture of their governments. This text comes at a time when most of the leaders do so little for the citizens who took their time to vote them in the positions they hold.
In the text, the writer uses vivid explanations to bring the point home and make the citizens understand how much authority they have to change their leaders and their systems. There may be the question of coherency of the information that the author has within the text, but if there is a logical flow of ideas, then there ought to be coherence within it. Also, taking a keen examination of our systems of governance, I realize that those in authority do petite to help the citizens, yet there is so much they can do. This makes me be in total agreement with the article.
