In high school years, I realized that I had desirable qualities in my academic and personal life which would help me to be successful in the field of nursing. My nurturing personality, achieving high grades and enduring all forms of challenges in my past life would enable me to manage stress healthily and overcome rigorous and intense nursing demands would match my capabilities. My goals are to complete a bachelor degree in Nursing and be a fully registered practitioner and to pursue a master degree in nursing education to meet learning needs of nursing students.
My first 1st and 2nd-year goal are to finish Bachelor Degree in Nursing and become a registered nurse. I believe that undergraduate degree in Nursing will help me to acquire professional skills and Knowledge, and it is where I intend to obtain clinical competence, sharpen my clinical judgment and gain technical aspects of the patient care (Megginson, 2008). Once I have finished my degree, I will do National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to be a Registered Nurse Graduate (RNG).
My second goal is to continue academically towards my Master’s degree in Nursing Education. I am in a hurry to complete my Master’ degree due to my primary aim of being a nursing educator; possibly at any community college that offers certificate or diploma program in nursing (Cooper, 2009). My goal of continuing with education is motivated by the great urge of teaching other students to increase my understanding in the nursing profession.
In conclusion, the demands of nursing profession match my experience which provided me with essential qualities that a successful nurse should possess. My important goals are to finish a bachelor degree in nursing and be a registered nurse and to be committed to my master degree in nursing education. With these goals, I hope to acquire essential qualities that are needed for professional development through education, where I can coordinate learning process, conduct assessment and identify and fulfill the needs of my students.
