Emotion components
Emotion is defined as feelings that cause psychological and physical changes that influence how one behaves. The physical component, the cognitive component, and the behavioral component are the three major components of emotion. The physiological stimulation that comes with an emotion is included in the physical component. The cognitive component entails determining the precise feeling that one is experiencing. The behavioral component entails an outward manifestation of one's feelings (Barrett, 2017). There are six different sorts of emotions that are thought to exist. Joy, fear, wrath, sadness, disgust, and disdain are among them. When one is glad or joyful about something or someone, they are experiencing joy. Fear is felt when one is scared of something, someone or an event. Anger is experienced when one is annoyed by someone or an event. Sadness is felt when one loses someone to death or loses something valuable. It can also be felt when one does not get the expected results. Disgust is felt when one experiences something that is not pleasant while contempt is expressed by one person to another (Barrett, 2017). There are various theories that explain the function of arousal in emotion. They include the cannon-board theory, James-Lange theory and the Schachter-Singer two-factor theory. The cannon-board theory explains the physical and emotional states that occur at the same time in relation to a certain event. The James-Lange theory involves the description of bodily changes as a result of emotions. The Schachter-Singer two-factor theory explains the physiological arousal and the cognitive process that are as a result of emotions (Barrett, 2017).
