Expectancies of Teachers
The motive for conducting the research was to forecast the intellectual attain of the students. This test was carried out in respect with the Flanagan nonverbal Genius test. It is based on testing the skills of the college students which are not school learned. It examines a child’s vocabulary and other components that provide a platform to test the intelligence of human beings away from academically related elements.
Method
Participants
This test was administered to fundamental school students where college students were sampled randomly within the six available grades young people were selected as either performing low, common or above average. Only 18% of the students in each class have been involved in the experiment.
Procedure
The identified children were brought before their teachers and described as being capable of showing individual performance after a specified period. An IQ test was carried out before and after eight months. A re-test was undertaken in three classes to establish whether the teacher participation would influence the results obtained.
Results
The hypothesis in this study was that the identified students would show a more significant change in intelligence at the end of eight months. From the research, it was evident that the sampled children had a higher intellectual gain. It was not uniform in all the classes where poor students showed better intelligence gain than the upper-grade students. The difference in performance was insignificant after a retest was done by an administrator who was less attached to the students.
Discussion and evaluation
The performance of the lower grade students was seen to be better than that of the higher grade students. It could be said to be because of the young children establish more credible performance goals due to lack of well-established reputation. They also have different characteristics from other students because they are new in the school. Therefore, the age of the student as well as their goals affects their performance in a performance test.
