The Star Rating System of Hotels is a well-proven and definitive way to assess the overall quality of a hotel that often forms consumer preferences. The ranking scheme is different from one country to another. It should be remembered that each country has its own way of rating hotels from one star to five stars. There are no clear international guidelines that hotels around the world can comply with. However, the level of hotel services, cleanness, amenities, price, and location play a crucial role in their ranking (William, 19). In the US things are not different, for a hotel to be ranked high it must adhere or ensure these things are in excellent state.
What expectations did you have before the service encounter?
Before visiting a five-star hotel (Bellagio), I had huge expectations as a result of my imaginations, people’s view, and my studies. My first expectation was quality food and drink, high levels of cleanness, exceptional levels of services, excellent customer services around the clock and also huge fees for this kind of services. Being a five stars hotel, I expected it to have swimming pool and gym among other class facilities I read and see in movies. I expected the facility to have internet connection or WIFI.
Description of my encounter
One beautiful morning during my holiday, my dad told us we were going to spend a day in a five stars hotel in our neighbor state. Being young and new to five stars hotels we started to develop huge expectations and imaginations as we prepared for our journey. After hours of preparation, we were ready to set off. After 5 hours of driving, we finally arrived at Bellagio Hotel at around 1.15 pm. As I stepped out of the car, I started to feel and see the real meaning of the word 'five-star hotel.' The hotel was well painted, the grass was green, and the building was well fitted with glasses from the floor to the ceiling to portray the real comfort associated with the hotel. One hotel staff welcomed us to the facility and directed us to the reception where my dad confirmed our booking. By just a blink of an eye, we were cleared to proceed to our room. We were served a glass of lemonade as we waited for our lunch meal. To my surprise, my father ordered our meal by just a click of a button. A smooth voice of a lady confirmed our order by telling us in a minute our meal will be ready and minute later, a staff well dressed in her uniform showed up with our order. I have never encountered such speed and efficiency in service delivery. My siblings and I we were escorted by a server as we walked around the building. We could move from one floor to other using elevators or use glass fitted stairs. The hotel exceeded my expectations because everything I expected was available and others that I never imagined. We spent our evening in a movie room where we watched our favorite series in 3D screens. The hotel had strong wifi connections that made browsing and streaming easy. I can go on and on describing my experience in this incredible hotel, but I will sum it all by saying my encounter was amazing and I cannot wait to go back.
Bellagio Hotel justifies the phrase 'a customer is a king since' they treated us with utmost honor, respect, and honesty. With that kind of services, foods and the facility as a whole, it is hard to rate the hotel less than 7 (extremely satisfied). The welcome we received, the level of their customer services and above all their advancement in technology plays a key role in their high ranking.
My first time in a five-star hotel brought a feeling of completion. I was amused by the way the staff treated us and how prompt they responded to our queries. The quality of food and drink in this hotel is the key to the happiness of their satisfied customers who keep coming back for more (William, 50). I must admit I was thrilled with the kind of services we received in the hotel.
As I have mentioned above, my encounter in this hotel was the best thing that has ever happened in my life so far. Therefore, I cannot demand more apart from one thing I think should be addressed. The glass floors make the facility beautiful though they are slippery, thus if they can find other glasses which are not slippery, then everything will be nice. Apart from floor glasses, everything was perfect, and I can proudly rate it 7(extremely likely) which means I will visit the service provider soon.
