Ruby Armani's favorite quote is, "Once you put your mind to anything, you can achieve it." She is a twenty-one-year-old fitness director, dancer, and choreographer with a sizable social media following. When asked when she first began dancing, she recalls her mother telling her that she was born dancing and that she had one of those ambitious mothers who always wanted her to learn various activities. Her mother once told her, "You will experience anything under the sun." As a result, she grew up to be a very adaptable kid who enjoyed hockey, karate, and ballet dancing, among other things.

Her favorite she says was dancing ballet which she started at two years of age.

The more she danced ballet the more her interest for dancing grew. “Being praised for my dance moves as a kid motivated me a lot,” she says.

She would spend an hour out of school to perfect her ballet skills and was the best in her class. She goes ahead and argues that, “when I got to puberty my hips started growing and dancing ballet became difficult so my interest shifted from ballet to dancehall and hip-hop. My mother allowed me to go to under 18 clubs which were highly supervised and that’s where I learned new dance moves and started participating in dance competitions.”

She continues to say that is where she formed her first dance group where she would teach her group the latest dance moves.

Armani declares that she has worked with many artists and has featured in many dance videos. She adds that she loves what she does. “My name is my brand and I love that I help so many people by teaching them how to dance and helping them to keep fit.” She owns a studio and she has a very large group of learners who are very anxious to learn her unique styles. With over one million social media followers, she always has to find something new to maintain her relevance and keep her fans. She also says that she tries to develop a personal relationship with her trainees so that she can get to know their strengths and weaknesses, which makes her work easier.

She goes ahead to say that the best part about dancing is that it comes with freedom and according to her, it is the best way one can work out without getting bored. "I know the difference between having fun and overdoing it. When dancing is your soul and you feel like making moves every time you hear music, then it is part of you." She says what she also loves about her job is that she gets to travel a lot to very interesting places and meet many interesting people. "I get so excited when I am contacted to feature in videos in places I have never been because it boosts my popularity and makes me appreciate diversity.”

“Since I am a perfectionist, I always want everything to be perfect so I always work very closely with my clients especially when doing a dance video. Whenever there is the slightest mistake I have to start all over again because I have a brand to protect. I love it when I see my face on TVs and magazines because of something I did perfectly.” She adds that she always has a tick sheet that she has to ensure she follows to the latter. Her moves, she says, are influenced by what she sees around her and the simplest things that people see and take for granted gives her great ideas.

Having danced almost her whole life, she says it is her responsibility to share with her audience what she feels when dancing and she goes ahead to say with enthusiasm that she cannot find that feeling anywhere else. “To the audience, dancing might seem to be something for just their eyes but to the dancer, it is something completely different.” When asked what one needs to do to be a great dancer, her response is, “Be yourself, embrace yourself and do not be afraid to show the world what is special about you.” She also says every dancer has their own unique quality and nothing can change that. She says the dancing industry, like any other industry, has its own challenges but one should be tough.

At times I feel like giving up but then I come across people whom I have inspired and I am reminded that I need to keep going. My fans are my biggest inspiration and I love being a role model to them. When I am older I would like to look back and say, wow I got to do very cool things.” Her faith, she says, also keeps her strong and she adds that she always puts God above in all her activities. “There is always room for growing and getting better and there is always someone better than you. All you have to do is do your best and not allow yourself to be in a comfort zone.”

She says she has dreams of getting a bigger studio for her trainees and she would also love to try out other types of dances like salsa one day. “I would like to be a worldwide trainer and have many studios in different countries. I would also like to have a TV show where I can teach people about fitness through dancing.” Asked if dance is the only way she keeps fit, she says she maintains a proper diet and she ensures she detoxifies once in a while. "For now I would like to concentrate on my career then, later on, I might think about having one,” she says when asked if she is in a relationship.
