1. Describe any changes in the Moon's appearance from observation to observation.
The moon appeared to be slightly changing its appearance from new moon to quarter moon. It was appearing as a waxing crescent for the three days observed through the crescent kept increasing. The lighting on 22 was dimmer (probably at 10%) compared to 23rd with 17% and 24th November with 25% lighting showing an increasing in lighting from the waxing crescent moon.
2. Describe any change in Moon's position in the sky from observation to observation.
The moon’s position in the sky also kept changing but not a significant change. The intensity of illumination could be estimated to be changing. The position could be slightly be observed at 0° 29ʹ with slight changes around 0°.
3. Using the methods laid out above, what is your estimate of the daily amount of angular change in the Moon's position?
From the observed calculations, the estimated daily angular change for the vertical position was observed as follows;
Day 2 – Day 1 = (40-28) = 12
Day 3- Day 2 = (51-10) = 11
To get the average, (12+11)/2 = 11.5°
There was no observed horizontal angular changes as the reference point from the horizon kept constant.
