Population of Earth
Overpopulation is the unwanted scenario in which the current human population exceeds the earth's carrying capacity. The constant increase in population has always been blamed for this situation. Even though the world's population has increased from 1.7 billion to 6 billion people in the twenty-first century, this increase does not justify the existence of a global population crisis. As a result, this paper argues that the earth is not overpopulated, contrary to popular belief.
The assertion that the world is overpopulated is unsubstantiated because it is based solely on city demographics ("Is the World Overpopulated"). Most cities and towns in the world are densely populated because of increased rural-urban migration. In this regard, as people move to the urban areas, they leave the other parts of the country less populated. If the population density were spread evenly in every nation, then it would be easily seen that the earth is not overpopulated. Also, the existence of a large unoccupied land around the world justifies my reasons behind the overpopulation of the earth. For instance, some parts of the USA and Canada are not occupied, yet they can accommodate a lot of homes and people.
Moreover, the occurrences of natural calamities in most parts of the world lead to several deaths. These catastrophic events may lead to the world having the majority of people of the same sex making reproduction difficult because they cannot produce children among themselves. Therefore, the growth of the population in the future is hindered ruling out the argument that the earth is overpopulated. Also, we cannot say that the earth is overpopulated when in the real sense we know that in some few years ahead, the elderly will die leading to a decrease in population of the planet earth.
