Refugees' Security
The short paper looks at some of the laws that control refugee situations around the world. The project examines the standards that underpin refugee security around the world. Alexander Betts wrote the article in 2015 to inform citizens and countries about how to deal with the increasing number of refugees.
"The regime consists of two sets of obligations: asylum and burden-sharing," Betts says. According to the declaration, the refugees must be provided with housing. He believes that all stakeholders must share the responsibility of ensuring that the needs of these expatriates are addressed in order to better protect this vulnerable community. Betts shows several reasons that compel people and nations to protect the refugees. He writes that "The humanitarian principle implies that we have particular obligations toward those in need.” The statement proves that all the people around the world have a responsibility of ensuring that our suffering brothers and sisters are helped using every possible means.
From the article, it is evident that the worth of a country is measured regarding its ability to cater for those in need. According to Hardin, “the carrying capacity of the state depends upon its ability to help refugees without causing great detriment to those already in the metaphorical boat.” A country can only be considered developed and stable economically when it can support new refugees entering its territory without causing any harm to the other existing inhabitants.
In conclusion, the statements emphasize on the need to provide adequate protection to the refugees and other disadvantaged groups. People are encouraged to show compassion to these suffering groups of people to enable them have a fulfilling life like the other people.
