Retail Design: Selling Infant Books to Your Customer
Appealing to insecurities people face psychologically is a very effective way companies can get more sales and customers. Discovering the reasons and conditions that affect the choices of customers is important in knowing the right marketing strategy to get their attention. For example, parents are persuaded by the idea of making better choices and provisions for their kids by convincing them that their kids deserve more. In producing a good reading space for kids, it requires in-depth knowledge and analysis of child psychology, and an understanding of their behavioral patterns. Asides having books that are appropriate for children of all ages, successful children bookstores are designed to fit within the surroundings as well as enhance the local environment. It should also complement attractive colors, designs, spaces and benefit from ongoing refurbishment and change. It is important since children change as they grow and the book store should remain appealing to them (Petermans, Kent & Van Cleempoel, 2014).
Important safety measures in a children`s book store should include a check on heights, large equipment, and wobbling stair cases. These factors are a reality in construction sites, no matter how careful or modern the contractors will be. Besides, the store owners can be more vigilant with electrical equipment. Hence, the personnel should be extra cautious to ensure there is no wear and tear of available machines and the children are following all safety precautions listed for computer equipment. Lastly, the floor of the bookstore should not be slippery to reduce the rate of accidents (Zhu, Galland, Dick & Wallis, 2017).
When planning for a Children's Bookstore, it is important to include spaces that ensure safe conditions and prevent injury. As seen in figure 1, children may be more comfortable working on foam tiles or an area rug than on a floor with a hard surface. Since a bookstore requires a silence environment, floor coverings are helpful in reducing noise.

The site should include low- to medium-height furniture to divide the shelves and study areas (Badot et. al, 2016). The furniture should also be arranged in a way that it allows freedom of movement while also preventing activities like running as shown in the figure below.

The bookstore space should also be well-organized and have diverse areas that store different kinds of books for different ages as presented in the figures below.

In understanding what drives the decision of consumers, marketers are turning to psychology to identify with factors that have an impact. Skillful, smart, and honest marketers use psychology ethically to engage and attract the parent and child demographics and compel them to consider their offer. They achieve this by running emotional ideas, introducing fear and uncertainty doubt, promoting exclusivity, highlighting flaws, and repositioning competition (Badot et. al, 2016).
Issues to do with child education are influenced by a range of factors that need a holistic approach. Apart from understanding the needs of parents and their children, a children`s bookstore must be responsive to the diverse needs of communities in regards to impacting children with good knowledge. The process of creating efficient children`s bookstores that meet the needs of kids, parents, and their communities will need the input of neighbors of the scheme to articulate their needs as well as their aspirations and concerns. Real community engagement will help create a bookstore that meets the needs of children as well as the community.
