Return to the Start - The Birth of Jesus
There was a carpenter named Joseph once in a town. He had the job of making wooden kitchen tools, such as tables, chairs, and beds for people, and in exchange he would have been paid when the goods were purchased. The carpenter had an affair with a girl from the same town. The girl's been named Mary. There was a time when a courier came to Mary in her house to offer her good news. Angel Gabriel was the messenger. He told Mary that God had chosen her to be the mother of a great child, a child who would bring redemption to the earth. Through this birth, the people would be forgiven their sins by Our Father in Heaven who lives high above the sky.
Mary was troubled with the news that the angel had given to her. She decided to pay Elizabeth a visit by riding on a horse’s back. She had the intentions of telling the good news to her as well. Elizabeth told her to believe in the news, as it was entirely true; she felt her child kick when she greeted Mary, which wasn’t a coincidence since she was God fearing, had faith in Him, and chose to believe in the Angel’s message. The same messenger also appeared to Joseph to encourage him to take Mary as his wife since she was to carry a miraculous baby. Although he was troubled, he accepted the news in the end. In the same month, people were to be counted, and they travelled to another city to get involved in that procedure. When Mary and Joseph got there, all the hotels were full, so they took shelter in a cowshed where Jesus was born. Angels danced and sang when the miracle child was born. They were overjoyed since the savior had finally been born and was to set the world free of its sins and pave way for salvation of mankind.
Adam and Eve
God created al, things but on the sixth day before resting, he created man and put him in the Garden of Eden. God gave the man the name Adam. The garden was beautiful with rivers flowing in it and trees full of fruits. God asked him to take care of the garden. However, God advised him not to eat the fruits from the tree in the middle, but he was free to enjoy fruits from any other plant. As time went by, Adam felt as though he was bored and lonely in the God’s house. He requested Him to create a helper for him.
When Adam was deep in his sleep in the garden, God took a rib from him and created a woman who was named as Eve. She was to help Adam take care of the Garden of Eden. One day, a serpent came to the woman and encouraged her to eat the fruits from the tree that was forbidden for them. Adam tried to refuse, but Eve took one fruit and took a bite. She, then, gave it to Adam who also took a bite. After sometime, their eyes opened and they realized they weren’t having any clothes on them. They realized they had disobeyed God and decided to hide. When God came and asked why they were hiding, Adam told Him what had happened. They were sent away from the garden. He punished Eve to be feeling pain while delivering and Adam to toil all his life for food.
Symbolism
Salvation. The story is meant to tell us that God is working on plan that would help saving mankind from sins. Jesus was the Son of God, and he gave up his life just for the sake of ensuring that human beings were free of their sins. Also, it shows that God had planned the salvation of human beings for a very long time ever since He allowed Jesus to come to the Earth. Jesus gave up his life of comfort in Heaven to come to the Earth to warn humans and teach them the will of his father. It is apparent indication that God values the salvation of human beings.
Obedience to Authority. The story about Adam and Eve ends in a tragic manner since they are both punished for their disobedience. God gave them instruction not to eat from the tree in the middle of the garden, but they still went ahead and betrayed His trust. This was an act of disobedience to the authority. The story teaches that we should always be faithful to those who have been good and kind to us. This is due to the fact that when we chose to disobey such rules of moral, God is disappointed in us and may inflict pain through punishments just as he did with Adam and Eve. The story teaches the importance of being respectful and obedient at all instances.
