Review of the film "To the Bone"

The primary goal of this assignment is to compose an essay that provides a concise film analysis "To the Bone." In general, this paper will imitate a movie review. It will introduce the author of the film, analyze its central theme and message, and include an overview of what is depicted in various scenes. Essentially, each paragraph would be used to reflect a concept or cover a brief scene from the film. All of the concepts will be illustrated with examples from the film. In order to maintain a consistent flow throughout the article, good transitions will be used between paragraphs. The ideas will also be expressed in a clear manner, this will ensure that the reader is able to understand and relate with the facts and information in the essay easily. Basically, To the Bone is a Netflix film that is directed by Marti Noxon and produced by Julie Lynn, Karina Miller and Bonnie Curtis. It was also written Marti Noxon ("Watch to the Bone | Free Online Movie Streaming", 2017).

Some of the main people starring in the movie are Keanu Reeves, Carrie Preston, Lili Taylor and Lily Collins. The movie has a running time of approximately 107 minutes and is based on English as the main language ("Watch To the Bone | Free Online Movie Streaming", 2017). Lastly, the movie was released in the year January 22, 2017 in Sundance and July 14, in Netflix. In order to ensure that the movie was produced in the best way possible, there were at least 5 production companies that were involved. Some of this Companies include; Spark house Media, To the Bone Productions, Mocking Bird pictures, AMBI Group and Foxtail Entertainment ("Watch To the Bone | Free Online Movie Streaming", 2017). Generally after reviewing the film, it is safe to state the fact that the movie “To the Bone” can be categorized under the drama genre. It talks about a young woman who seems to be dealing with a condition known as anorexia. The movie also speaks about how Ellen meets a doctor who challenges her to face her condition by embracing the reality of what she is going through.

As mentioned earlier, in order to complete on this assignment, this paper is going to focus on at least three paragraphs that will be used to describe three scenes in the movie. A good example that can be used to describe a scene where Ellen suffers from the anorexia condition is the fact that when we look at the first scene of the movie, she is presented as girl who seems to be crazy ("Watch to the Bone | Free Online Movie Streaming", 2017). This can be attributed to the fact that she wears her clothes in manner that they hang off like a scare crow. Secondly, medics boot her from a treatment program. Their main reason for this action is because of her defiant attitude. After she is booted from the treatment/health program, Ellen goes to stay at her father’s place together with her stepmother and siblings ("Watch To the Bone | Free Online Movie Streaming", 2017). She could not be able to stay alone since she did not have a place to go, secondly, her condition could not allow her.

The second scene represents the main story line of the movie. In reference to this scene, there is a lot that unfolds. In some way, the movie turns from being dramatic to emotional. As we all know, anorexia is an eating disorder that results/characterized with the loss of weight or an appropriate gain in weight. Consequently, it results to the development of emotions such as the unwarranted fear of what others might think or say about you. When we look at this scene, emotions come in when we see Ellen going through a lot of difficulties so that she can be able to overcome her disorder ("Watch To the Bone | Free Online Movie Streaming", 2017). During this scene of the movie, Ellen tries to escape a certain kind of feeling or pain that she did not like. She was afraid of this feelings to the point that she started losing it in some way. According to different medics and treatment programs she had attended, the only way that she was going to overcome this situation was by facing her feelings.

This scene also gives a detailed analysis on how the recovery program was important in bringing Ellen back to her right situation. Basically, as the movie comes to an end, it is quite safe to state the fact that the movie the director/writer of the movie is very talented. The flow of the movie is very easy to understand and relate with. Generally; as the movie comes to an end, when we look at the last scene, it is safe to state the fact that there is no exact or reasonable way of healing anorexia ("Watch To the Bone | Free Online Movie Streaming", 2017). Healing depends on how one faces their emotional challenges. The performances are excellent. Ellen’s story as depicted in the scene is what most people go through. The last scene tries to cover how Ellen managed to solve her situation, it also tries to give public knowledge and information of how different people can overcome anorexia.
