Safety policies
Many firms have implemented safety regulations in response to the high number of injuries. The advantages of safety rules have been explored, including offering employees safety control and supervisors safety support in their individual positions in order to accomplish the company's goals and employee happiness. To determine the injury incidence and satisfaction inside the firm, a study must be conducted on three platforms: executing the corporate safety policies, employee safety control, and supervisor safety support. The number of injuries and illnesses within an organization is on the high note within the United States of America according to the study that was conducted in 2002 (Injury facts. 2005 edition. (2005). These high numbers of injuries and illnesses have resulted to huge annual costs of about $52.4billion dollars. This cost, if it can be able to be reduced, can be used to stabilize the country’s economy by creating a strong GDP. The government agencies concerned with the worker’s safety issued safety qualities that are based on the organization safety policies meant to reduce the risks of illness and occupational injuries making the jobs safe. Using these safety policies that have been put across gives a clarification on the safety climate which makes it able to predict the safety related outcomes such as job incidents and accidents.
The construction site I worked on had these set of regulations that were responsible for the employee’s safety. All unfinished places had to be safeguarded and only the employees with appropriate gears such as safety boots and goggles were allowed. These rules had to be followed and serious consequences had to be taken if an individual violates these rules. These policies made the construction site to be secure and reduced employee accidents.
Conclusion
The individual differences are the most influential personnel’s in the organization to reduce the workplace accidents, injuries, and fatalities. Taking care of oneself is a priority to every employee. Therefore, if every individual avoids accidents by taking responsibilities and following the safety policies that have been put forth can reduce the number of fatalities in general.
