On the other hand, mothers are encouraged to eat a well-balanced diet rich in iron and proteins that are effective for the development the brain cells and proper circulation of oxygen in the brain. The infant must be provided with an enabling environment. Various tasks must be done so as to improve the brain development. The tasks include the use of varied colors, moderate music, efficient breastfeeding, and increasing the time of the mother-child contact (Swim, 2013).
Toddler’s autonomy and temper tantrum
Individual response to the independence of toddlers vary but it is common for the parents to ensure that there is some level of interdependence by looking on the safety of the child and supporting them to crawl or stand. Nonetheless, most parents find it tricky to accept the idea that leads them to give their children names like stubborn. In contrast, temper tantrums like crying and kicking are common in most toddlers. This is due to lack of alternatives to express their displeasure or needs. Due to this, parents must ensure that they know the cause of the temper and determine the appropriate solution. For instance, a 6-month old child may be crying due to excessive heat in the room (Swim, 2013).
Effects of child development on parental lifestyle
The necessity of the powerful bond between the parent and the child can lead to a positive change of the lifestyle that goes well with the child. Parents must set rules that are not to be questioned as the child develops. The parental role changes to be a role-model and a guide to the toddler. The parental role changes to developing the good behaviors that enable the child to have a reasoned decision-making. The parent teaches the toddler the basic skills of surviving. The toddler learns about the environment through trial and error, like staring at objects. As the mother teaches the toddler, the toddler’s progress and experience increase in performance as the mother watches. This helps in the improvement of the brain performance due to the development of the brain (Paulus, 2014).
Differences of dealing with a child and a toddler
Due to the age differences between the toddler and an infant, the parent must deal with the two groups in a different manner. Due to the differences in their age, which is the infant is below the age of one year and the age of the toddler is between 1 to 4 years, the parent must take caution on how to handle the transition of the child. Infants require more attention and affection from the mother compared with the toddler. This is because the parent feels that the infant needs to breastfeed most of the time and the toddler can feel safe under the care of another person other than the mother (Houston-Wilson, 2016).
