The Conditions for Coverage (CFC) and Conditions of Participation (CoPs) are developed by the CMS which any health organization must anticipate or meet for the purpose of beginning or continuing enhanced Medicare and Medicaid programs. The regulation aims at building a strong foundation and gaining high standards options of improving quality and protecting health and safety of the beneficiaries. CMS plays an extensive role in ensuring that CMS recognizes the reasonable standards of the accrediting firms. It aims to meet the standards of the Medicare as ruled by the CoPs and CfCs.
There are underlying conditions of participation. Coverage and certification, health organizations must anticipate during caregiving processes. The qualification for the certification as a healthcare provider, suppliers, and reimbursement must adhere to the minimum safety and health standards. The conditions duly depend on the Medicare participating entity. According to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. (2015), the regulations have been embraced by the concerned health organizations from the United States, that is, the American College of Surgeons in early 1916.
Moreover, the controls function in Canada with the aim of examining the quality of services provided by the institutions.
