Xenotransplantation
Xenotransplantation is a cure condition in which the transfer of the non-human tissues or organs into the human recipient. The motivation for the usage of animal sources for organ transplant is determined by provide and demand though if this treatment technique is applied it has numerous advantages. Altruistic all transplantation is a transplantation of organs, cells or tissues to a recipient from a non-identical donor supplied they are the same species (Cooper and David, p.290). These two methods of cure should be incorporated into the fitness care system due to a large range of patients that is in need of organs. Despite their demands, they have some benefits and also disadvantages.
Some of the disadvantages include: The number of donors is less compared to the patients who are in need of those organs hence people will continue dying to wait for the tissues. Rejection of the new cells by the body is also another problem where the introduced cell is treated by the body like an infection, and this causes other side effects to the victim. The ethical issue is another barrier where some people argue that it is wrong to use animal or other people's organs for treatment where they say that it is not safe for human bodies. An individual can also get zoonosis from the animal's organs which might lead to higher health problems in the future. There are other advantages, but I have just listed the few major once (Cook and Peta, p.240).
These two treatment methods also have some advantages such as they promise life-saving benefits where the patient is sure that with the use of animal organs or donated organs she/he can survive and live for an extended period. There is a reduction opportunity on the black market for organ donation where the sale of human on the black market has reduced (Kang, Hee Jung, et al., p.1000). This treatment method also shows a potential to open up the new area of research for the scientist so that individuals can get more knowledge on the treatment and this can finally bring an end to deadly infections such as cancer.
